Airline appoints finance boss

ANTHONY Pereira has been appointed chief financial officer of PNG Air Ltd, the airline said in a statement.
Pereira started in his new role last Tuesday.
According to PNG Air, Pereira holds a Master of Business (Accounting) from Monash University and is a qualified certified practising accountant (CPA – Australia) in addition to Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (Australia).
He has an impressive business background encompassing aviation, hospitality, wholesale and retail experience across a number of countries including Italy, Australia, Fiji and Vanuatu.
“Anthony brings a great deal of experience to the role but more importantly his attitude and approach to driving change fits the culture of PNG Air,” airline chief executive Paul Abbot said.
“The airline continues to grow and evolve and for us it’s all about fitting the right people into the company who can identify opportunities for growth, build shareholder value and strengthen the airlines performance.”
