Airline reports two cancellations since start of international flights

AIR Niugini chief executive officer Bruce Alabaster says the national airline has only had two international flight cancellations in the last months since resuming international travel.
Responding to queries from The National, Alabaster said only PX392 and 393 to Singapore on June 24 and June 26 were cancelled from its schedule of over 170 international flights.
He said both cancellations were due to bird strikes on approach into Brisbane which required some parts to be flown in from the USA.
“This had a flow-on effect to other services the aircraft was scheduled to operate,” he said.
Alabaster confirmed that Air Niugini continued to provide accommodation and meals for its affected passengers in accordance with the same policy as all major airlines worldwide.
“We are one of the airlines in the region that offers best inflight service with great products, one the people of PNG can be proud of.”
