AIRLINES PNG has built and equipped a clinic at its headquarters at the Jackson Airport in Port Moresby.

The occupational health and emergency treatment clinic was established to provide basic primary health care and occupational health and emergency services to benefit and support their dedicated workforce.

Chief executive officer Muralee Siva said: “As with most organisations, our staff are our most valued asset.

“We understand and appreciate our duty of care to ensure that our people are supported and are able to obtain medical treatment on site.”

He said access to the clinic would enable staff to be treated quickly and efficiently, and also to minimise small ailments from becoming major issues.

He added that it would provide even longer term benefits for their staff.

The clinic is staffed by a qualified nurse and is also equipped with a hospital bed, basic medical equipment, common medicines and medical consumables which are required to attend to the most common injuries arising from place incidents.

It will also be used to conduct drug and alcohol testing in line with the relevant polices applied by the airline and its clients.
