Allow Fraud Squad to hire own lawyer

HOW can the Department of Justice and Attorney General give a lame excuse by refusing a request from Fraud Squad Director Mathew Damaru and his deputy Timothy Guta to be represented by private lawyer Greg Egan?

Police Commissioner Gari Baki is a defendant to the alleged offender who is the Prime Minister and ethically we cannot expect the same defending party of the alleged offender to request the Attorney General to grant permission to the complainant to pursue their proceedings against the Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill.

This is morally wrong.

The particular section of the constitution which gives power to the Police Commissioner to request permission from the Attorney General should be reviewed and a clause allowing police officers who are parties to legal proceedings be given a right to request permission from the Attorney General Department should the police commissioner compromise his position in future cases.

Moreover, this case has taken so many twists, turns and delays since the beginning.

You can do everything under the sun to run away from man’s justice but you will never escape God’s justice.
