PARISHIONERS of Holy Family Anglican parish in Hohola, Port Moresby, celebrated its 61 years of existence in Port Moresby on Sunday.
Parish priest Fr Alfred Guda was the main celebrant during the mass and spoke on the theme of “Living the Spirit of the Holy Family.”
A cultural group from Tufi, Northern, added a traditional flavour to the celebration with the beating of kundu drums and their traditional Oro dancing.
Long time parishioner Cecil Kapiyama, who was given the honour of cutting the cake to mark the celebration, urged young people to care for their parents. “My advice to the young people; please look after your parents,” Kapiyama said.
“Young people you have to move with the church and take the lead.”
Kapiyama said he became a parishioner at Holy Family parish in 1981 and had been a faithful member since then.
