Barrick has a commercial arrangement with Santos, however, Santos is yet to comply with Sect 47 (5) of the Oil and Gas Act.
Acording to court documents, landholders have now been identified through the Court Sanctioned Alternative Dispute process. The State is restricted entry into Angore PDL8 area including the power plant site per a letter from the Department of Petroleum and Energy (Aug 23, 2017).
Angore landowner chairman John Tambiabu said the state and Hela government were in contempt of a court order dating Jan 12, 2017 and June 18, 2015 in delaying account opening for Angore PDL8 through the Mineral Resource Development Company.
