ANZ has invested a lot in upgrading its branch in Goroka to provide customers with full service, Pacific operation chief executive officer Vishnu Mohan says.

In a statement, ANZ says the branch will provide customers with full service including retail banking, small business corporate and commercial services.

Mohan said the bank’s initiative reflected ANZ’s confidence in growth occurring in the region and their broader commitment to their businesses across PNG.

“Large corporate, commercial and small to medium business are a driving force in the local economy especially in the coffee, building and construction, transport and general merchandise industries,” he said.

Mohan said the bank is delighted to be able to support and contribute to the prosperity of Eastern Highlands economy through the investment.

ANZ PNG managing director Mark Baker said “the Goroka branch is a critical point of representation for the bank because it’s in the hub of the major coffee activities in the highlands”.

“Key features of our newly refurbished Goroka branch are specifically designed to meet the needs of our clients.

“In addition to the four ATMs at the branch, we also have two more offsite at Papindo and all have a secure facility for business customers to deposit and withdraw cash,” he said.

  • It’s good to have our new upgraded branch in GOROKA BECAUSE Goroka is a industrial commercial trade center for all highlands provinces. Commercial activities are rated high in comparison to other highlands capital.therefor,we have to have such financial institution to compliment its operations with the participants.
