Apec Haus now under events secretariat

THE National Events Secretariat will manage the operations of the Apec Haus in Port Moresby, says minister Justin Tkatchenko.
Tkatchenko, who is responsible for foreign affairs, explained that the events secretariat falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Prime Minister and National Executive Council (NEC).
He said it was an NEC decision to transfer the management of Apec Haus from the Finance Department to the secretariat.
“This is to ensure all government and privately-organised events are coordinated efficiently,” Tkatchenko said.
Finance had been managing the Apec Haus for the last six years.
