Apostolic Church hosts council meeting

THE Apostolic Church of Papua New Guinea hosted its national executive council meeting in Lae, Morobe, for the first time last week.
Thirteen of the church’s national executivesmet on Wednesday and Thursday.
President Pastor Obert Kuringi said it was the first time for the executives to meet outside the Highlands.
The church was first established in Enga in 1952 by missionaries from the United States of America, England and New Zealand.
It’s headquarters is in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands.
Pr Obert said the theme of the meeting was: “Reviving the apostolic faith and rekindling the flame”.
He said Acts 28: 1-6, was fulfilled when they were welcomed last Tuesday for the two-day meeting.
“When we’re united, we’ll see rekindling of faith,” he said
“Let’s team up and be united.”
“We must all work together, which is the foundation for unity.” .
Obert said the apostolic flame will be cooked by God’s Word. “God’s Word must reshape and reform you again to see oneness,” he said.
Deputy President and Kamkumung’s Lae Apostolic church Pr Wini Pasomb said they were happy to host the executives for their first meeting. “We’re happy to host the church’s authority, to meet here and discuss very important issues that were affecting church and its people.
“Very important issues of church governance, disciplinary matters, ministries of youth, women, health and education would be discussed to further strengthen these social services in lives of Christians.”
Wini is the Morobe district superintendent looking after local churches of Four-Mile, Cassowary Road’s Banana Block and Kamkumung in Lae, and Situm and Aluki in Labuta, Nawaeb.
