Appeal to Japanese embassy

Letters

THIS is an appeal to the ambassador of Japan, Nobuyuki Watanabe, that as a token of appreciation, the Japanese government must fund a special project at Haniak village in Yangoru-Saussia, East Sepik, this year.
Recalling history from 1942 – 1945 two companies of Japanese Imperial Army-Soldiers numbering 400-plus made camp at Haniak, destroyed vegetation, killed animals for food and were fed and protected by villages.
In return, Japan had not thanked us since 1945, while we remain silent.
We want our electricity power pole connection, with water supply, roofing iron for modern houses, equipment for agriculture, computers for our children and scholarships to study in colleges/universities in Japan and we want kind donations, not money.
