The National Letters

THIS is an open letter to the Police Minister and NEC members of the Marape/Steven Government.
If you are looking at an ideal candidate for the post of police commissioner, the current best performing officer in the country and people’s choice is Lae Metropolitan Police Commander Anthony Wagambie Jr.
He may not have reached the rank of assistant commissioner or deputy commissioner but he has the following positive attributes:

  • A career no nonsense officer who is fighting crime passionately in Lae city as we hear on the TV and read in the daily newspapers;
  • a born leader who is respected by his sub-ordinates and the rank and file in Morobe and the people of PNG;
  • he is within the age bracket you are looking for; and,
  • He is a nationalist and not afraid to fight national, international and Ttrans national crime and crime syndicates which are infiltrating into our country and communities.

If the Police Act allows for candidates who are at Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner level only to be considered, this condition can be waived, and the people’s choice be entertained by appointing Lae Metropolitan Anthony Wagambie Jr as PNG’s Police Commissioner
