A WARRANT of arrest has been issued for a man who has skipped court hearing twice after he allegedly sold land for K20,000 under false pretence.
Kule Arthur, 31, from Maragana village in Sogeri, Central, was alleged to have conspired with Bari Aisi to sell land to Jenny Hame under false pretence.
On Jan 23, 2017, Hame met with Arthur and Aisi at 14-Mile to discuss the sale of two pieces of land measuring about 20 square metres.
Hame agreed to purchase the land from Arthur for K20,000 with the knowledge that she would have full ownership of the land title.
After the deal had been made, Hame gave K20,000 to Arthur and Aisi.
Hume was allocated two pieces of land, 20 square metres each and developed the two plots for K30,000.
She was then ordered to stop work by another person who claimed to have bought the land at an earlier date. She asked Arthur and Aisi about the matter and was told that the deal had already been done and that they were willing to offer her another piece of land.
Hume formally lodged a complaint against Arthur and Aisi with the police.
Arthur was then arrested and charged with one count of false pretence while Aisi evaded arrest and remains in hiding.
Arthur was placed on a K1,000 bail but has failed to turn up in his two court hearings and has not been in contact with police.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar adjourned the matter to Sept 30.
