Article headline misleading

Letters

THE front page of your newspaper on Friday (Dec 21) with the flashy ‘Church abhors abuse’ seems to have missed its target completely and is in no way connected with the contents of Fr Giorgi Lucini’s article.
As an entity responsible for the news consumption of the PNG public, it is demanded of you to be more precise and relevant in what you put out for the public’s consumption.
As in all news articles, the heading captures the contents of the article.
In your case, how is ‘Church abhors abuse’ relevant and connected with the setting up of an office or desk to address the problem of abuse should it arise in the church in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands?
Is setting up an office or desk to refer or report allegations cases of abuse, which I think is the gist or core of this article, an abhorring of abuses or an attempt to report and address abuses?
I found it so difficult to make the connection.
