DAULO MP Pogio Ghate has paid villagers of Yontu to relocate to allow the expansion of the town and development of the district administration headquarters.
Ghate and officers of the district development authority are working on a development plan to bring changes.
He paid out the repatriation funds at the district headquarter in Asaro last Monday to the 18 villagers of Yontu in the Lower Asaro local level government.
“The development and extension of a township in Asaro is one of my priority impact projects that would benefit the people,” Ghate said.
He called on the people to support the projects.
“If you want the projects delivered to our district, then you have to agree to allow work to proceed on your traditional land without asking for compensation from the developers, my office and the Daulo district development authority,” he said.
“Bear in mind, that you and your children and the generations to come will benefit from the development delivered to you.”
