Association elects Kiaka as president

President-elect Nigel Kiaka has praised the Huon Dart Association members for having the confidence in him to oversee the competition which heading into its fifth round.
The association convened a meeting over the weekend and elected Kiaka as president, Major Joe Terikian as his deputy, Norman Bafinu as secretary, Camilla Yanabis as treasurer and Tom Kogowa as games coordinator.
Kiaka hailed the members’ support and asked that it be maintained to ensure the competition ran smoothly.
At the meeting, Post PNG captain Lepani Karigawa said he would help get a constitution done for the association.
Meanwhile, the toughest game of the round last weekend was between Hauslain 31 and Aces.
Aces started with Samuel Zebuye collecting their first point in the team game. Hauslain 31’s Bobby Kabaik collected their first point in the doubles.
This inspired Hauslain 31 to collect two more points through Julie Bafinu and Ezra Kawambara.
However, Aces fought back and collected their second point through Paul Siyam to narrow Hauslain 31’s lead at 3-2.
The game started swaying in Hauslain 31’s favour. They collected the next point through Kabaik in the doubles.
The last doubles point was collected by Aces’ Greg Borik.
In the singles, Hauslain 31 fought strong to collect four points through Bobby Kabaik, Julie Bafinu, Nathan Pali and Norman Bafinu, who scored 180 in his singles.
Aces collected only two points through Samuel Zebuye and Felix Toiriman in the singles.
In the other matches, Post PNG hammered Sergeants Green 12-1, Unitech smashed Sappers 2 10-3 and Sergeants Gold beat Officers 9-4. Sappers 1 were on a bye.
