AN exhibition in Cairns, Australia, in November requires Papua New Guinean art and craft in fibre.
The art and craft in embroidery, baskets, bilums, tapa cloth, and paper will be exhibited at the Tanks Art Centre from Nov 19 to Dec 12 in the Fibres for Living exhibition.
The Morobe Tourism Bureau (MTB) is organising Lae’s involvement as sister city to Cairns.
Other sister cities, Oyama and Minama (Japan), Riga (Latvia), Scottsdale (USA), Sydney (Canada) and Zhanjiang (China) would be having their art and craft on show.
The MTB is now calling on artists and designers to provide their handiwork, 10 winners would be sent for display.
The selection of the craft ends next Friday.
MTB said all art and craft would be returned to the owners after the exhibition.
MTB had in 2008 showcased Zumim pottery in ceramic exhibition.
Last year it did a photographic exhibition.
