AUSTRALIAN engineering group Monadelphous Group Ltd  is primed to start a three-year contract extension with Oil Search Ltd (OSL) in Papua New Guinea and Western Australia in the oil, gas iron ore and water sectors worth  A$120 million
The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper last Friday reported that the works were with major operators in the oil and gas, iron ore and water sectors.
In PNG, the company had its three-year contract with OSL extended for three more years at the energy company’s oil and gas production sites in Southern Highlands.
The deal will see Monadelphous provide field construction services at Oil Search’s production and support facilities in the Southern Highlands.
The agreement also includes additional work to upgrade the gas company’s  Kutubu and Gobe facilities in preparation for the delivery of gas to the Papua New Guinea LNG project.
This work is scheduled to be finished in the third quarter of 2012, Monadelphous said in a statement.
On the Western Australian component of the project, Monadelphous will undertake structural and mechanical work for BHP Billiton Ltd at the iron ore port facilities at Finucane Island, Port Hedland.
The work is expected to be completed by December.
