Authority loses loyal member

ONE of the longest-serving members of the National Capital District Commission has died after a long illness.
Former Port Moresby city manager Robin Yanopa, pictured, died on Monday at Port Moresby General Hospital. He is originally from Siane in Chuave, Chimbu.
Yanopa joined the commission as a junior health inspector in 1980 after graduating from the Madang College of Allied Health Sciences. He also a board member of the Port Moresby General Hospital and St John Ambulance and was chief health surveyor with NCD Health Authority for 30 years until his resignation in June 2011.
His son Francis said he received a medal to mark Papua New Guinea’s 25th independence anniversary on Sep 16, 2000.
The hauskrai is being held at his residence at Gerehu stage 3B.
