Nawaeb development authority had presented a new boat and outboard motor to ward two members of the Labuta local level government to support youths and women.

YOUTH and women in a ward in Morobe were given a boat to help them carry out activities to earn a living and improve their lives.
The boat and outboard motor were given by the Nawaeb development authority through chairman and MP Kennedy Wenge yesterday at Voco Point in Lae.
Wenge said the authority had assisted the people of the Labuta local level government (LLG) over the last five years and in other LLGs in the electorate from the coast to the inland.
He said any funding, service, facility or equipment given to the wards or LLGs needed to be managed and overseen by presidents and ward councillors to ensure it benefited everyone.
Wenge said assistance in the form of boats and engines, ambulances or similar equipment needed to be protected and used well.
He presented a K38,000 worth banana boat and a 40-horse-power engine to ward two of Labuta LLG leaders.
He said students could also use the boat and urged the leaders to ensure it was maintained.
