Baki appeals court decision

FORMER police commissioner Gari Baki is appealing a National Court decision that dismissed his election petition against West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel.
The application will be heard this week as Muthuvel did not receive the application.
Waigani Supreme Court Judge David Cannings said Baki was to serve the application by today (Monday).
He further ordered that a notice of service be served among the application and supporting affidavits.
It was noted that Baki filed his application on March 16 and had served only the second respondent, the Electoral Commission.
Baki, through his lawyer, said the application was seeking Supreme Court discretion to review issues on compliance in his petition against Muthuvel.
Justice Cannings said the application would be heard on Friday at 1.30pm.
