BANK South Pacific (BSP) teed off its sponsorship of the Morobe Open with a K14,500 donation to the Lae Golf Club to host the tournament which stages its Pro Am competition today.
BSP Lae head of corporate said: “BSP is excited to once again support the Morobe Golf Open. The Morobe province has a lot to offer in terms of social and economic development.
BSP partners with Lae Golf Club to support the Morobe Open, recognising sports, promoting local talent and hosting visitors from overseas,” Sugars, pictured, said.
Winner of the 2008 Morobe Open, Steven Jeffress makes his return to the Morobe province in 2019 as one of the most experienced players in the field. A performer on the international stage, Jeffress will be one to watch across the weekend.
Morobe Open tournament director John McCarthy acknowledged BSP for its ongoing support of this prominent event that attracts professional golfers to the shores of PNG, and provides the platform for exposure for local pros and amateurs.
The tournament teed off on Tuesday and ends on Sunday.
This will be followed by the BSP Junior Pro Am Golf event next Tuesday (May 7), as a lead up to the PNG Open in Port Moresby on May 11-12.
