STAFF of the Bank of PNG’s department of finance and payments have given K10,000 to the Cheshire Disability Services to mark its 46th anniversary.
It was one of the six organisations to benefit from the bank’s community service programmes.
Department manager Gaona Gwaibo said the bank supported community services and Cheshire provided an essential community service.
Gwaibo said the donation was to support the services provided by Cheshire.
General manger of the Cheshire Disability Services Benard Ayieko said the Bank of PNG had previously supported Cheshire in a number of ways.
Ayieko hopes that other organisations would follow the foot steps of Bank of PNG.
The only support coming from the Government is through the Department of Education.
“The rest of the programmes we have are funded by World Vision and we are hope we will have a stronger relationship with the Bank of PNG and other corporate entities to support the programmes we deliver to our people,” he said.
