Bank opens Eriku branch

BANK South Pacific Financial Group Ltd (BSP) has established a stronger presence in Lae with the opening of its fourth branch in Eriku last Thursday.
The investment worth more than K8.5 million saw the branch begin operations with a focus on mass market customers, according to outgoing chief executive Robin Fleming.
“This branch will predominantly service our everyday Kundu and transaction customers hence you see more teller counters and customer service counters,” he said.
“There is no special priority service for our corporate customers; they can continue to use Lae Commercial or toptown (branches).”
Customer Geraldine Beneti, who witnessed the soft launch, thanked the bank for focusing on customers, especially parents who would be taking loans to pay for school fees in the New Year.
She said the branch was timely and convenient with no more waking up early for the queues.
The new branch will be managed by Roslyn Paulus Kanini and will have 26 staff of which six are tellers, five are customer service officers, two lending officers, four branchless banking staff, five back office staff and three ancillary staff.
This adds to BSP’s nationwide network of 85 branches, 42 sub-branches, over 250 cash agents, 326 ATMs and over 9,000 Eftpos machines.
