RINTEBE Lutheran High School in Eastern Highlands is the latest to be lit up using solar-powered lights provided under a Bank South Pacific (BSP) community support project.
Goroka branch manager Livikonimo Koki cut the ribbon and switched on the lights at the school during the school’s graduation ceremony.
“Our community projects are undertaken nationwide by each branch as a way for our staff to contribute meaningfully back to the community,” he said.
“The community project is focused on education, health, sports, environment and other community initiatives.”
Koki said BSP was a corporate organisation but each staff was part of the community.
“Our vision is to align BSP to be the leading financial service-provider in our chosen market,” he said.
“Community projects like the installation of solar lights are conducted across the branches in Papua New Guinea and Pacific Islands. I hope our contribution to Rintebe High School makes an impact for the students.”
Koki a pioneer student of the school, appealed to the surrounding communities, staff and students to look after the lights. He thanked the school management, especially Principal John Inaho, and the board of management, for accepting BSP into the school.
