WESTPAC’S credit team in Port Moresby donated two ward trolleys, a wheelchair, thermometers, adult diapers and 75 backpacks to the Port Moresby General Hospital ward 4B last Tuesday.

Members of the team have been visiting the ward for the past 10 years and have helped provide much-needed items at least three times a year.

Bank head of credit and risk Angela Sen said like others in the community, Westpac was grateful for the valuable services that were provided by the hospital.

“We are therefore happy to fund the purchase of these items and the trolleys at a total cost of K5,000,” she said.

“Patients of ward 4B suffer from HIV and TB and it is heart-warming to see the smiles on their faces when we visit. We get great pleasure from helping very sick patients who are less fortunate than ourselves.

“The money used to purchase the donated items is raised by Westpac credit team by selling books, raffle tickets, clothes, cup cakes and other items.”

A nursing sister at ward 4B said hospital staff members were excited and pleased to acknowledge Westpac’s credit team for its support for the past 10 years.
