SIXTY-TWO residents of a police barracks in Port Moresby have formed a small-to-medium entrepreneurs association to boost their businesses.
Bomana Barracks Women in Life Skills business vice-president Michelle Hevari told The National that initially the idea was to support the wives of policemen who were not working.
“In June we registered our association and then attended the National Capital District Financial Literacy Training at the City Hall,” she said
“It was a two-week training.
“After that we have been doing our own sales at the barracks raising funds for the association.
“We are grateful to National Capital District Commission for setting up something like this (Independence Day market) for our exposure. “We plan to use opportunities like this to raise more funds so that each members can be supported in setting up their SME.”
She said interested youths and two police officers had joined taking the membership to 62.
