Basil’s tragic death shocking

Letters

THE death of the Deputy Prime Minister Sam Basil cannot be comprehended by Papua New Guineans as he died at the 11th hour before the issuing of writs.
It is shocking and astonishing in the eve of election and people are still debating the death of the country’s leader.
Unfortunately, Basil died from a nasty car accident which is sad and heartbreaking.
A modern-day leader that stood as a shining guardian not only for Morobe but for the country as a whole.
A man who possesses integrity and a leader of simplicity.
He is down to earth and can even serve you a cup of coffee if you visit his home.
His leadership traits are unique from all other Morobe leaders.
His death is a huge shock to the nation and people are still left speechless.
Let us all pray that may the immediate families, people of Bulolo and the people of Morobe be comforted at this time of sorrow.
