Be patient, one day it will pay off

PNG’s rugby has a long way to go.

Most Kumuls players are home-based players.

We do not have well-established development programmes like Australia and New Zealand.

Rugby in Australia works systematically.

They have a well-structured hierarchy of developing rugby.

Look at us; do we have children playing as early as eight years old in PNG?

Mal Meninga and Adrian Lam have something to offer to us.

Listen to them.

Rugby is not our sport.

We are trying to play like them so remember; it will take time before the standard of rugby moves up to another level.

We have had a lot of politics in the code and due to that we have dragged on to this far.

Keep quiet and give the two gentlemen some time.

As a supporter of this game, I felt sad when our boys started showing defeat in every game.

But now I have a better idea of our strength and weakness at the international level.

It is simple, be fit physically and mentally.

Having to master all the skills without being fit is a nightmare.

I think we can be like them one day but it will need a thorough reorganisation for the purpose of arriving at a cherished platform of competitiveness.
