Be steadfast in God: Pastor

Faith

PAPUA New Guinea cannot turn their back to God because they have come a long way with Him, says Assemblies of God (AOG) Pastor Chris Utiam.
Utiam spoke of his belief during a church gathering at Gerehu, Port Moresby, on the eve of PNG’s 48th Independence anniversary.
“We must not allow our problems to move us away from the presence of God because we have come too far as a country to back away from God now,” he said.
Utiam spoke of a biblical parable of the Prodigal Son in the book of Luke, chapter 15.
The story of a son who left his father’s home in search of attractive things of the world.
“We must have the spirit of humility to come back to God as an individual and as a nation,” he said.
“No matter how far we have gone away from God, His grace is sufficient to receive us back as his children.”
Utiam stressed that the sons of the nation must humble themselves and return to God if they think they have drifted from him.
“Fathers in the homes and leaders of the country, it is time we go back to God with humble hearts as the Prodigal Son,” he said.
“At the place of humility, God will heal our country and bless this nation.”
