Betel nut ban and clean city

Letters

WHILE the ban, or partial ban, on the sale of betel nut is in effect in some parts of Port Moresby, it is a cowboy’s estate at Rainbow.
You hardly see vendors at the bus stop area because they have been bundled into an area behind the SDA church and the wholesale supermarket.
When the law enforcers leave, it is like the zoo, with animals rushing back out to play.
And when the enforcers return, the cat and mouse game resumes.
Seriously, Mr Governor and whoever else is responsible, the rule that is supposed to keep the bus stops free of betel nut stains and husks should be applied right across the city if we are to make Port Moresby clean.
Right now, it seems, the focus is only on the Apec route.
While the front looks clean, the back yard is as a filthy as a pigsty.
