West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel is on a constant delivery mode to fulfil his motto of ‘reaching the unreached and touching the untouched’.
Last Friday he put more smiles on the faces of students and teachers of Bialla Secondary School when he opened a new boys’ dormitory, ablution block and a teacher’s house, adding to a list of services the secondary school had received.
Muthuvel acknowledged the school board and teachers for their support and work in getting the school to the current standard.
The governor revealed that the school would be allocated K500,000 next year to build some teachers’ houses but the school could decide between a four-in-one classroom or teachers’ houses.
“I want our children to have a better future, they must study well, get good jobs and have a good life,” Muthuvel said
He told the students to be mindful of the sacrifices their families made and to make use of opportunities, concentrate on their studies and achieve their dreams.
“You are in the classroom today because your families have made some sacrifices — that’s the reason you are here,” Muthuvel said.
He asked the teachers to to conduct basic literacy skills in nearby villages as their community service.
