FORMER Education secretary Dr Musawe Sinebare says there is a big hole in the education system where funds disappear.

“Accountability and transparency are the two key principles that any person who is in the position of power must possess in order to develop the country,” he said.

He was the chief guest speaker at the Grade 12 graduation at Mt Hagen Secondary School, Western Highlands.

He urged students to make use of their God-given talents and skills to prosper in life.

“You are given the basic tools of writing, reading, numeracy, reasoning, judgement, comprehension and appreciation,” he said.

“Nothing is hard – it all depends on how you think.”

Sinebare said Mt Hagen Secondary had produced key people who had shone out in all sectors in the country.

“If the school can produce best citizens of the country, what about you?”he said.

Sinebare said the school had given students a particular seed through education.

“It is how you prune it and take good care of it that will determine what crop, the quality and quantity you will harvest from it,” he said.
