Despite being hit by robberies this year, fast food retail outlet Big Rooster is keen to expand to four new centres next year, according to managing-director Salim Chamadia.
He was speaking at the weekend when announcing the firm would open in Alotau.
Other centres to have Big Rooster outlets next year are Goroka, Madang and Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
Chamadia said the company would be renting two outlets for K2 million at a mall being built in Alotau.
He said the outlets would be used by Big Rooster and Donut King.
Chamadia said the company was “impressed with developments in Alotau”.
“We think we should expand our Big Rooster shop in the newly-built mall,” he said.
“We will take our donut brand to this mall as well. The Alotau Mall is being built at a cost of K5 million.
“We (Big Rooster) expect to be operational by Jan 2019.
“We have been operating Donut King since 2010 at Vision City Mall, and are now planning to expand to other outlets and regional centres.
“Big Rooster has been in PNG for over 30 years. We have 23 outlets operating, with four under construction and to be completed this year.”
