An employee of Oil Search Ltd who participated in the corporate blood donation, says it was rewarding to know that blood donations saved lives.
Arnold Leis, who is with the Oil Search human resources team in Port Moresby, was among 27 employees who donated blood recently.
“The small bag of blood that you give can make a huge difference so why not donate blood and help save a life,” said Leis who has been donating since 2015.
Port Moresby-based employees of Oil Search had donated blood to Port Moresby General Hospital through their ongoing participation in the corporate blood drive since 2015.
“We are delighted that 27 of our staff were able to donate blood to the Port Moresby General Hospital blood bank in our recent blood drive,” said Dave Weeden, Oil Search medical and occupational health services manager.
Obahakari Nouairi, Oil Search business analyst, said the blood donation enabled him to check his personal health status as well.
“It’s a great way to check my blood pressure along with other issues I may have,” Nouairi said.
“Oil Search has a motto ‘Committed to PNG’ and I can think of no other way that demonstrates that commitment than by supporting such a worthy cause.”
Nouairi encouraged other Oil Search employees to be a part of the next blood drive which will be in March and April this year.
