Boas, Simon to start

SP Hunters coach Matthew Church says he is looking to start experienced pair Ase Boas and Charlie Simon in the halves when the upcoming Intrust Super Cup (ISC) kicks off.
“I’m the kind of coach who likes to go with experience first and then look at the younger guys to get into game situations,” he said.
“Young halves Judah Rimbu and Solomon Pokari have been impressive.
“If they keep putting the runs on the board than someone who is more experienced and doesn’t show the desire to be there, then they’ll certainly have their position taken.
“That doesn’t just go for the halves, it goes for anyone in our squad.
“If you’re not on target, we’ve got some younger players who are eager to have a crack.”
Church said they were focusing on adapting to the new six-again rule.
“Last week was about putting it all together and what we learnt in the pre-season,” the former Sunshine Coast Falcons assistant coach said.
“We’re starting to stack it all together.
“We’re putting our defence and attack together, and put our plays into sequence.”
