FOLLOWING a disappointing showing at the South Pacific Bodybuilding Championships last year, the main focus for the Papua New Guinea Bodybuilding Federation are aiming to put on an improved performance in this year’s edition set for October in Fiji.
PNGBBF vice-president Jacob Kom said the federation would ensure that the team would be better prepared for this event.
“We get the best team to represent PNG at the South Pacific Championships this time and we will be seriously vying for the Mr and Ms Pacific titles,” Kom said.
“Our prime goal for competing for the South Pacific titles would qualifies us to go to the World Bodybuilding Federation’s competition the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships hosted by Thailand in December this year.”
Another important item on the agenda of PNGBBF this year is the conducting of refresher courses for bodybuilding judges preparing them for upcoming events.
The course will be run by a head judge from the South Pacific Bodybuilding Federation.
All PNG judges are urged to attend the course which will be held in Port Moresby before the national championships.
