GROUNDWORK for the reopening of Boisen High School in the Kombiu local level government of Rabaul district, East New Britain, is progressing smoothly.

Education Department first assistant secretary policy planning and research John Joseph said last week the national department was aware of intentions to re-open the school and was now awaiting endorsement from the provincial education board.

Joseph assured Rabaul district teachers who gathered at a compulsory education consultative forum last week at Malaguna Technical High School that Boisen would definitely be endorsed for re-opening once all necessary documents were approved.

Provincial education advisor Pius Gawi confirmed the education division had started work on a coming provincial education board meeting that was expected to be held this week.

The Rabaul Joint District Planning and Budget Priorities Committee has approved initial funds for the construction of classrooms to start before the end of this year.
