Bomana road soon to start, says Kaupa

WORK will soon start on the road leading to the Bomana jail, outside Port Moresby, according to
Housing Minister and Moresby North East MP John Kaupa.
He said this when asked to comment regarding concern raised by the jail commander on the road condition when transporting inmates between the courts and the prison.
Earlier this year, a K16 million contract was awarded to contractor Phoenix Construction Company by Kaupa.
Correctional Service Commissioner Michael Waipo said the biggest concern is that there is a court house here and the judge and legal officers had been coming in to hear the cases and would need good decent roads.
However, Kaupa said contractors would move in to work on the Bomana road after completing the ATS road which was almost complete.
