NASFUND members within the National Capital District (NCD) are advised that from next Monday, the Boroko branch will be a fully-fledged payment centre.
According to a statement from the superfund, this would now leave other services to be attended to by the Port Moresby branch downtown.
Member services chief officer Charlie Gilichibi said basically, the Boroko payment centre would be accepting applications for retirement, unemployment, housing advances, death, inter-fund transfers, emigration and medical (permanent of total incapacitation due to physical or mental infirmity).
Gilichibi said the Port Moresby branch would be open to all inquiries including balance and statement inquiries, contribution inquiries, bio-data updates, online access, ID cards, account merging to facilitate payments, beneficiary updates, online access processing, Eda Supa contributions processing and all other inquiries not related to payments.
He said if a member was intending to withdraw and had a duplicate account or had contributions that were required to be reversed, that member would be referred to the Port Moresby branch for the merging or reversal to be done.
“Thereafter, the process is complete then the withdrawal will be lodged at the Boroko payment centre,” he said.
He said the Super Saturday Service currently being offered at Boroko would not be affected by the changes.
Gilichibi confirmed that the service would continue as usual.
“Super Saturday will still run as usual with all services provided out of Boroko except for ID cards as they have been moved to Port Moresby branch,” he said.
The Super Saturday Service is an initiative of Nasfund to ensure members who are employed and are not able to visit the branches during weekdays, can be served on Saturdays. The services offered include housing advance application lodgment, balance checks, ID card processing, statement print-outs, general inquiries, and member details update form (MDUF) lodgment.
Lae branch in Morobe and Boroko branch in NCD are the two branches that open from 9am-12 pm for the Super Saturday Service.
