THE Civil and Identity Registry (CIR) branch in Kokopo, East New Britain, has been urged to utilise human and institutional resources available in the community to be more effective.
The encouragement came from the ENB deputy administrator for corporate services Nicholas Larme during handing over of the vehicle to the CIR office on Tuesday in Kokopo.
He said some of the vital services which people were benefiting from were coming from the churches.
Larme said for accessibility was a problem in East New Britain for the Pomio and Gazelle which were not connected by road.
Larme also reminded the 22 staff members of the Kokopo office that their work in terms of data collection, complemented other sectors like health, education and agriculture.
The management of CIR branch in the province was also encouraged to progress more with its registration of the population of 400,000 to meet the deadline.
Larme assured PNG CIR registrar general Noel Mobiha and the ENB CIR team that his government and administration would continue to support them.
