Brewer finish year without accidents

Business

THE South Pacific Brewery has recorded a full year without accidents as of Friday Oct 25, according to managing director Ed Weggemans.
He said the “safety achievement is a testament to the company’s commitment to maintaining safety at the workplace”.
Weggemans said it was good to note that employees had been vigilant in making a commitment to safety at the workplace, “not just for the numbers but because it is a priority”.
“Safety is our first greenprint to win behaviour.
“Working safely sustains business growth which benefits everyone directly involved with the company.
“Working safely means we get to go home and see our families after a day’s work, not only for those who work on the brewery premises but also those working outside in the trade and spending considerable time in traffic.
“I am also very proud to note that we encourage a safe working culture, not only among our staff, but also with casuals and contractors.
“Thank you all for your commitment to safety over the last 365 days (1 year) and congratulations to everyone.”
He encouraged staff to continue maintaining a safety mindset at the work place.
“Our people are the most important asset in the company.”
