SOUTH Pacific Brewery has presented K15,000 to the Warwagira and Mask festivals committee to help with the preparation and hosting of the annual cultural event that is expected to attract hundreds of people tomorrow. The company presented the money to the festival committee on Tuesday at the Gazelle International Hotel.
Brewery regional sales operations manager for New Guinea Islands Richard Baul said the company believed that its help would make a significant contribution to the successful staging of the event.
“We expect a huge turn-out from cultural groups from the province and other parts of the country to attend and showcase their cultures,” Baul said.He said the company believed in the preservation and promotion of Papua New Guinea’s diverse cultural values which underpinned the rationale behind the brewery’s continued support to cultural events like these festivals. He said the company had supported many cultural shows and festivals in many provinces and it would continue to do so to protect and promote the diverse cultures of the 800 languages in the country.“We must continue to look forward to create something special for our future generations to cherish and this is one way the company comes in to promote the cultures of our people,” Baul said.
