Brian Bell has started its clearance sale which will continue until the end of next month, chief executive officer Cameron Mackellar says.
He said this would see customers have four weeks of bargains and clearance prices on a range of items.
“The clearance programme is right across every Homecentre store with some really big discounts across a range of categories,” Mackeller said.
“Our buying team will also be monitoring the sales and releasing new deals and possibly further price reductions throughout the month.

“We hope every customer finds a bargain as there’s plenty to choose from.”
While providing an update of the group’s operations this year, Mackellar said 2020 has been a challenging but interesting year.
“Whilst 2020 will undoubtedly be remembered for the Covid-19 global pandemic, for us, it will also go down as one of the best years’ in our history,” he said.
“The best for how we managed through the Covid-19, how our team rallied in support of our customers, how our customers continued with their support of our stores and how we continued to support many communities, charities and organisation who needed help.

“Our plans have been solid now for the past few years.
“Our investment in property upgrades and new developments has helped with the vision we have for our team and business.
“Our business in 2020 has been exceptionally strong across all divisions, which gives us confidence in our plans and says a lot about what we are doing which is not only seen right for us but for our customers, the lifeblood of our business,” Mackellar said.

“The bits we like most about our successes this year are all about the small things we did well.
“Everything from planning how our business would remain open throughout the heightened period of the Covid-19 to ensuring we protected around 1,200 jobs in our business.
“No one knew how long or what the ongoing impacts of the Covid-19 would be, but we managed our team, customers and their health and wellbeing throughout the extended lockdowns.
“Even when things opened back up, we were ready to help.”
Mackellar highlighted some of the group’s milestone events for this year which included the:

  • Opening of its Gordon Plaza;
  • Opening of its new 39 unit apartment overlooking Ela Beach, Le Hunte; and,
  • Upgrade of its Madang homecentre.

“We are always optimistic about Brian Bell’s plans and future,” he said
