Brian Bell supporting SMEs through small business dealers

BRIAN Bell is currently supporting the small medium enterprise (SME) sector through small business dealers, chief executive officer Cameron Mackellar says.
Mackellar said this when asked what Brian Bell, one of the country’s largest and oldest white goods retailers, was doing to support the SME sector in the country.
“We currently support many SME business now and have done so for decades. Many SMEs are dealers for us and purchase products to sell through their stores across the country,” he said.
“The SME network of dealers businesses throughout PNG, who we presently support and provide products to, enjoy the opportunity to access quality merchandise which in turn provides value for their customers.
“We have been operating in PNG for 61 years and supporting our customer base and communities nationally for all that time.”
Mackellar said Brian Bell also welcomed the Government’s focus to support SMEs under the leadership of Prime Minister James Marape as previous governments had done little in this area.
“We certainly applaud the Government or any initiative that it comes up with in supporting the SME sector but not really sure what that actually means or how they will positively make an impact,” he said.
“The Government has been talking about supporting the SME sector for many years and that’s nothing new.”
He said, however, as for Brian Bell, it would continue to support the SME sector as it had been doing for many years.
“We are not the type of organisation who waits for statet-led initiatives.”
