Directors appointed
DR PETER Mason and Stirling Tavener have been appointed as independent directors of the Teachers Savings and Loan Society (Tisa). The society’s chairman Gabriel Tai, when welcoming them on the board, said Tisa was undergoing business transformation due to a changing operating landscape primarily driven by changes in legislation.

Clan vetting starts
PETROLEUM and Energy Minister Dr Fabian Pok has announced the clan vetting exercise for the Kutubu PDL Two area in Southern Highlands. Pok said this was to finalise the Landowner Beneficiary Identification – (LOBID) or clan vetting process for Kutubu PDL Two pursuant to the Oil and Gas Act. The State LOBID team will be in Kutubu on Monday.

Staff thanked
NINE staff clocked a total of 90 years serving Nasfund members. Chief executive officer Ian Tarutia thanked the staff for their commitment and loyalty. He urged them to maintain their passion and commitment to serve the fund membership with pride.

RHODES supply and Construction Company became the first to achieve the leading international business certificate for gender equality. Managing director Emanuel Papas said having a gender equal workforce gave any company a competitive advantage.

AGRICULTURE and Livestock minister Benny Allen says the government aims to improve business environment for agriculture sector. He said developing an agriculture base and providing market access for the traditional commercial crops was vital for PNG.

Focus on school
Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Benny Allen says agriculture curriculum has to be reintroduced to schools. He said the country’s economy could not generate jobs for the masses who graduate from tertiary institutions.
