Rain, wind to lessen
CURRENT rainstorms and strong winds are expected to lessen towards the weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Assistant director Jimmy Gomoga said the conditions had not change much but rainstorms and strong winds were expected to reduce towards the weekend.

A MAN will stand trial in the National Court next month for raping his step-sister. The committal court in Lae found sufficient evidence against the man from Finschhafen in Morobe.

Query raised
THE New Ireland government is querying where district services improvement programme funds belonging to the people of Kavieng and Namatanai are being spent. The question was raised during a provincial assembly sitting last week. Women’s representative Gertrude Salir said the people of Kavieng and Namatanai had the right to know how these public monies were being expended.
