City tightens security
NCDC has tightened its security and safety measures to ensure the state of emergency is being observed in the city. Over the last nine days, the NCDC urban safety division’s reserve police personnel partnered NCD police regular command under the leadership of Met/Supt Perou N’dranou. NCDC police director Paul Komboi said they had been assisted by regular police.

Vital services only
The Australian High Commission in Port Moresby will remain open but is operating essential services only. The commission said these include consular and passport services.
