Rainy season
PAPUA New Guinea will experience wet weather until March when the dry season is expected to kick in, according to National Weather Service. Acting director Jimmy Gomoga warned that some parts of the country would experience water shortage and water borne diseases when PNG enters the drought period.

MP welcomed
PEOPLE of Tambul-Nebilyer in Western Highlands were pleased to have their MP Win Bakri Daki join them to welcome the New Year earlier this month. District development authority chief executive Philip Talopa said the people had been silent during the political events last year wondering which side Daki would choose and were happy that he was with the Government.

Students fundraise
A GROUP of university students from Morobe conducted a fundraiser in Lae aimed at raising funds for an awareness programme for later this year. University of Goroka Finschhafen Students Association president Philip Riga said there was an increase in school leavers who were now instigating all sorts of social issues in the communities like fights and robberies and they wanted to help them.

Uniform donation
RAICOAST MP Peter Sapia presented 53 field gear uniforms to Ramu police last week in Ramu, Madang. Police station commander Insp Edward Alphonse said the uniforms would boost the officers’ morale to work hard. He said their field uniforms were worn out and it would cost over K400 for just one pair. Insp Alphonse urged the police officers to look after the uniform and serve it’s purpose.
