Yoga Day celebration
EAST New Britain’s Indian community celebrated International Yoga Day in Kokopo last Sunday. They also launched their Indian Cultural Association. Association secretary Nita Mahanta said: “We want to promote goodwill between Indians and Papua New Guineans through mutual interaction in the fields of culture, sports, education, health, trade, industry, emergency disaster relief and other mutually beneficial areas in the country.”

Bedding donated
A TOTAL of 200 pillow cases and bed sheets were donated to Port Moresby General Hospital by a business organisation recently. Hospital medical services director Dr Kone Sobi said the donation was made following a social media post by Friends of POM Gen partners about patients’ needs. Supreme Pharma PNG Ltd corporate services manager Manjunatha Narasimhaiah, said: “We feel that it is our responsibility to help the community with such donations.”
