NCC staff advised
NATIONAL Cultural Commission executive director Steven Kilanda has reminded new staff of their dress code and work ethic as public servants. “Having the right attitude and professionalism is of essence for the growth and development of your career and the organisation at large,” Kilanda said.

Weather station eyed
THE National Weather Service plans to establish an automated weather station at Walume in Southern Highlands to assist farmers prepare for natural disasters. Service deputy director Kasis Ipape recently told officers from the Food and Agriculture Organisation, National Agriculture and Research Institute and Imbonggu Development Authority officers that equipment would be sent soon for construction.

Pioneer graduates
A WESTERN Highlands school chairman says being the first graduates of a school is an achievement and students as well as parents should be proud. Pinjiki Wak, from the Tapolga Primary School, said the Komoka tribe in Tambul-Nebilyer appreciated the journey the school had been on from its establishment as an elementary school and to becoming a primary school.

New ward officers
NEW ward development committee officers were recently sworn in for East New Britain’s Kombiu local level government. Rabaul administrator Benedict Mode urged them to look into law and order issues in the villages.
